Home Inspection
How the counsellor helps:
  • The counsellor will find you a qualified home inspector.
  • For most provinces, there is no prerequisite to be a home inspector as they are only offering an opinion of the condition of the home. We look for credentials, and in most areas (including all major centres) we have home inspectors in place already.
  • The counsellor will pass on our volume rate with the home inspector, which will save you some money
  • The counsellor will go over the home inspector's report with you, in detail. Each counsellor reviews hundreds of inspection reports each year to hone their skills at spotting bad properties.

This is an important part of buying a home, and choosing a qualified inspector can be tricky. The field is still in its infancy, so specific qualifications for inspectors are not yet established.

We recommend experts that are qualified to do home inspections. They have more extensive training and have higher levels of qualifications, which include both in class, and field training. Choosing a home inspector is an important part of home purchase. There is no licensing required to do home inspections so choosing the right inspector has come to us over time and experience.

Some of the items should include.
  • heating
  • air conditioning
  • roof
  • plumbing

Destination Services
How the counsellor can help you:
  • The counsellor will provide a destination information package for general information, utilities, and emergency contacts.
  • If further orientation is required, the counsellor can arrange an orientation tour. This service is free when you buy a home with us, the tour is performed by the realtor.
  • The counsellor can arrange a destination services representative to assist you in finding schools, elder care facilities, setting up government services such as drivers licenses, provincial health care, and much more. There is a fee for these services.

There are many times when you may be relocating to an entirely new city that is unfamiliar to you. You may be too far away to visit immediately. In these cases you may want to have someone meet you at the destination to assist you with services you require and an orientation to the new area to familiarize yourself as to where you wish to look for your new home. We are offering you our destination service program for just these types of things. The list of items you can request information on can be as simple as finding a place of worship, a playground, child care, or a medical doctor.

There is a fee for this professional service so ask and feel free to contact us to discuss it with you.

Interim Accommodation
How the counsellor can help You:
  • The counsellor can source short-term accommodations that are more suitable than hotels for stays of longer than a week. Discounted rates may apply depending on the location.
  • The counsellor can also coordinate dates to confirm availability when you need it, and until the closing of your new home.

Many people require temporary accommodation at their new location, if they have not found or completed the purchase of a new, permanent home, perhaps, or if their family is not yet ready to move due to schooling or other commitments. Our temporary accommodation service provides alternatives to costly long-term hotel bills and the limited space available in hotel accommodation.

We have a counsellor who will contact you, identify your short-term housing requirements and budget, identify and pre-screen available temporary accommodation suitable for the family's needs through the transition. There is a fee for this service so feel free to contact ReaLocation for further details.
